Colman Coyle Announces Promotion of Four New Partners

Colman Coyle, a Central London law firm established in 1984, is delighted to announce the promotion of four Senior Associates to Partner, reflecting the firm’s continued growth and its commitment to recognising talent across its practice areas.

The newly promoted Partners are Adam Palmer, Anjani Purohit, Matt Champ, and Sayrha Elahi, each of whom has made a significant contribution to the firm and its clients.

These promotions reinforce Colman Coyle’s strength across property litigation, commercial disputes and specialist advisory work, and underline the firm’s focus on delivering high-quality, commercially grounded legal advice to a broad client base, including SMEs, high-net-worth individuals and international organisations.

Howard Colman, Founding Partner at Colman Coyle, commented:

“These partnerships recognise the strength of talent within the firm and our continued growth. We have every confidence that our new Partners will play a key role in the firm’s future success.”

Adam Palmer

Adam Palmer joined Colman Coyle in 2012 as a paralegal and has progressed through the firm to become a Partner. His journey reflects both his technical ability and his long-standing commitment to the firm and its clients.

Adam specialises in commercial litigation, acting on high-value, multi-jurisdictional disputes. Alongside this, he has developed a strong practice in contentious private client matters, including will disputes, trust claims, claims against executors and applications under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.

Commenting on his promotion, Adam said:
“To be offered the position of Partner is incredibly humbling. I owe a great many thanks to so many who have trusted and supported me on this journey. As I embark on this next chapter in my career I look forward to now taking an even greater role in shaping the firm’s future and building on its successes.”

Adam is focused on further developing the firm’s contentious private client offering, particularly in light of anticipated legislative changes in this area.

Anjani Purohit

Anjani Purohit joined Colman Coyle in 2023 and has quickly progressed to Partner within the firm’s property litigation team.

She specialises in complex property disputes, with a particular focus on building safety and fire safety matters. Anjani advises landlords, developers and managing agents on high-value and often high-profile disputes, as well as broader compliance and risk management issues arising from the evolving regulatory landscape.

Anjani commented:
“I’m delighted to be made Partner at Colman Coyle. Developing a specialist practice in building safety and fire safety has been a key part of my journey. I look forward to continuing to support clients across all areas of property litigation as they navigate complex and evolving challenges, as well as supporting colleagues in their own professional development.”

Alongside her client work, Anjani is actively involved in mentoring colleagues and contributing to the firm’s culture, including leading internal wellbeing initiatives.

Matt Champ

Matt Champ joined Colman Coyle in 2024, bringing with him a strong background in property litigation and advocacy.

Prior to joining the firm, Matt had already achieved Partner status at a regional firm and led a department at a relatively early stage in his career. His experience also includes working as a university lecturer and as a self-employed court advocate.

Matt specialises in property litigation and is known for his hands-on approach to complex cases. He commented:

“I am very humbled and proud to have been asked to join the Partnership at Colman Coyle. I have enjoyed every minute of my time at Colman Coyle and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store.”

Matt highlighted the firm’s ability to handle complex, high-value litigation despite its size, noting that Colman Coyle consistently delivers work of a quality and scale that exceeds expectations.

Sayrha Elahi

Sayrha Elahi joined Colman Coyle in 2014 and has built her practice within the firm, developing a strong specialism in leasehold enfranchisement. From her early days as an assistant solicitor, she has focused on this technically demanding area, gaining significant experience in lease extensions and collective freehold acquisitions.

Her practice has developed alongside rapid legislative changes, and she is known for her depth of knowledge and ability to guide clients through complex and often high-stakes matters. She places particular importance on long-standing client relationships, having advised clients on challenging issues over many years.

Regarding her promotion to Partner, Sayrha said:
“I have spent my career at Colman Coyle building expertise in an area of leasehold law that is now at a genuinely pivotal moment. I am looking forward to playing a part in what comes next for the firm and for our clients.”

Sayrha is focused on strengthening the firm’s leasehold enfranchisement offering and ensuring that Colman Coyle remains a leading firm in this area as legislative reforms continue to develop.

Going Forward

These promotions reflect Colman Coyle’s continued investment in its people and its commitment to developing expertise across key practice areas.

The firm has built a reputation for handling complex, high-value matters while maintaining a collaborative and client-focused approach. The promotion of Adam, Anjani, Matt and Sayrha to Partner positions the firm for continued growth, enabling it to continue going the extra mile to achieve the best client outcomes.
